Billy Beebot is helping Kindergarten learn to read many new words.

The children send Billy to find words on the sight word mat.

When Billy arrives on the word the children say it to their partner.

They then send Billy to another word.

All the Kindergarten children love to program Billy so that many words are visited on the mat.

It is great to see Billy Bee-Bot helping the boys and girls with their reading. Bertie is proud of Billy.

Do all of the class do this at the same time or are other groups doing other literacy activities?

I have used it both ways. To start off I moved all the desks away to the sides of the classroom and we all played the sight word game in the middle. Now literacy groups of 4 children can play in pairs. They loved it. I have made about 14 ‘boards’ now of words that gradually increase in difficulty. kind regards
