Worksheets August 22, 2010

Posted by mleone in C.

C and R have been sharing ideas when creating resources. The following worksheets were developed to use when investigating the properties of Beebots. The worksheets are to be used to record results of investigations.
The first three worksheets are used to look at measurement – distance. Students use informal units to determine how far beebots travel and how long a beebot is.

Worksheet How far did your Beebot travel around the desk, totetray? What can you find that measures the same as a Beebot?

These worksheets were developed to introduce students to more problem solving activities. Students are asked to design, test, evaluate and modify designs. Students then discuss and report findings to the whole group.

Some of these worksheets will be used at our Gifted and Talented day later this week. A group of year 1 students from nearby schools will be coming to spend the day exploring Beebots. One of our talented teachers has planned a day of activities and will report on the day in a later post.
