Meeting our Needs/Maths September 12, 2010

Posted by tlstevensteach in WH.

KS is learning about our needs and 3D shapes. We decided that our bee-bots needed shelter. We discussed what would be required for a building to satisfy this need and the 3D objects that would stack best. One particular group amazed me on their team effort to build the bee-bots a shelter with walls and a roof  that wouldn’t fall down easily. This group were made up of the quiet ones and this  taught me something I had not observed before. Yet one group went off and unsuccessfully individually built five separate building for their beebot and found team work difficult; yet they could work well in their usual literacy and maths groups. Another group decided that a large garden and swimming pool were highly important and spent most of their time creating this (oh dear)!
