First, we had a whole group morning maths lesson on area where we compared using shoes and dictionaries as area-measuring tools for sheets of newspaper. We discussed the concept of measuring and marking area by using same-sized measuring tools that left no gaps.

1 MS is planning to do group work with our Bee Bots. We will be splitting into 7 groups of 3 students each. Our first team building exercise will be designing a shell for our Bee Bot, using the template found at http://www.kenttrustweb.org.uk/kentict/content/games/beebotShell_v2.html .  Each group will also choose a name for their Bee Bot.

Our unit this term is Local Places. We plan to integrate the Bee Bots into the unit with a culminating project where we will construct a town/city for the Bee Bots using recycled materials for building on a grid. We will then design certain missions for the Bee Bots to perform by programming them to follow various routes through their local place.
